# Returns & Warranty

How to send something back, the warranties on the tools we sell, and how refunds work.

## Overview

This policy covers everything you buy from ToolPoint Solutions, whether online at www.toolpointsolutions.com, from our van on a workshop visit, or at one of the events we attend. It sets out how we handle cancellations, unwanted items, faulty goods and manufacturer warranties on hand tools, specialist vehicle tools, power and air tools, diagnostics, workshop equipment and consumables.

We're an independent mobile tool supplier serving garages, workshops and mechanics across South and West Yorkshire, so returns are kept simple: most unused items can come back within 30 days, faulty goods are put right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and hand tools are backed by a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. If you're on our van round, you can usually just hand a return to us on our next visit. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

Where a section refers to "consumers", it means customers buying for personal use. Business and trade account customers have slightly different terms for change-of-mind returns, noted where they apply.

## Cancelling an order or returning unwanted items

You can return most unused items to us within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange.

**Your legal right to cancel (consumers).** Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day you receive your goods to tell us you want to cancel, for any reason. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back. We will refund the price of the goods and our standard delivery charge.

**Our extended returns window.** On top of this, we accept change-of-mind returns for up to 30 days from delivery, provided the item is:

- unused and in resaleable condition
- in its original, undamaged packaging with all accessories, manuals and fittings
- not a consumable, special order or cut-to-length item (see Items we can't accept back)

Return postage for change-of-mind returns is at your cost, and the goods remain your responsibility until they reach us. We recommend a tracked service.

**Business and trade customers.** Trade accounts have 30 days to return unused stock items. A restocking fee of 15% may apply to items that need repackaging or inspection before resale. Special-order and non-stock items cannot be returned unless faulty.

## Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If something arrives faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, we will put it right at no cost to you.

Please check your delivery on arrival and tell us within 48 hours of any transit damage or shortages, with photos where possible, so we can raise a claim with the courier. Keep the packaging until we have confirmed what to do next.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not:

- Within 30 days of delivery you can reject the item for a full refund, or choose a replacement or repair.
- Within 6 months we will repair or replace the item. If that fails or isn't possible, you are entitled to a refund.
- After 6 months and up to 6 years you may still be entitled to a remedy if you can show the fault was present when the goods were delivered. In practice most tools are covered by a manufacturer warranty for this period (see the next two sections).

We cover the cost of returning faulty or incorrect items. If you're in our van area (Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield, Wakefield and surrounding South and West Yorkshire), we'll collect it on our next visit; otherwise we'll send you a prepaid label. Faults caused by misuse, modification, lack of maintenance, use with the wrong accessory or normal wear and tear are not covered.

## Hand tools – lifetime warranty

Every hand tool we sell carries a lifetime warranty from its manufacturer against defects in materials and workmanship.

This covers items such as spanners, sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, hex keys and similar non-powered tools, including brands such as Premier and Milwaukee hand tools. If a hand tool breaks or fails in normal use, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge for as long as you own it.

The warranty is provided and honoured by the manufacturer, not by ToolPoint Solutions, and each brand sets its own terms. In general it does not cover:

- wear and tear, cosmetic damage or corrosion
- tools that have been abused, modified, heated, used as a pry bar or hammer, or used beyond their rated capacity
- tools used with impact or power drivers where the manufacturer does not permit it
- cutting edges, blades and jaws that have simply dulled with use

**How to claim.** Call, text or WhatsApp us on 07876 653396 with your order number and a photo of the tool, or show it to us on our next van visit. In most cases we can arrange a replacement directly. Some manufacturers ask that the claim goes to them, and we will tell you if that applies and point you to the right form. Proof of purchase may be requested, so please keep your order confirmation.

## Power tools and engineering equipment – manufacturer warranty

Power tools, air tools, batteries, chargers and boosters, diagnostic and electrical testing equipment, lighting, jacking and vehicle-movement equipment are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, typically 12 months from purchase and often longer if you register the product.

**Registration.** Several brands only provide their full warranty once the product has been registered online, usually within 30 days of purchase. Milwaukee, for example, requires you to register your tools and batteries on the Milwaukee website to receive the extended warranty period. If you don't register, you may only receive the basic warranty, so please do this as soon as your tool arrives. We will include registration details with your order where a brand requires it, and we are happy to help if you are unsure.

**Making a warranty claim.** Warranty repairs are carried out by the manufacturer or its authorised service centre. Contact us first with your order number and a description of the fault; we will confirm whether the item should come back to us or go straight to the manufacturer's service network, and we can help with the paperwork. Repairs for faults not covered by the warranty may be chargeable, and a quote will be provided before any work is done.

Manufacturer warranties sit alongside, and do not replace, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 described above.

## Consumables

Consumables are items designed to wear out with use, so they are not covered by any lifetime or extended warranty.

This includes drill bits, taps and dies, saw blades, jigsaw and reciprocating blades, cutting and grinding discs, abrasives and sanding sheets, hole saws, router cutters, end mills and inserts, screwdriver and impact bits, blades for knives and scrapers, lubricants, oils and fluids, and similar items.

You can still return consumables that are unused, sealed and in their original packaging within 30 days as a change-of-mind return. Consumables that are faulty on arrival, damaged in transit or not as described are covered in the normal way under Faulty, damaged or incorrect items.

We cannot accept consumables back once they have been used, opened from sealed packs, or worn through normal cutting, drilling or grinding. Premature wear caused by the wrong speed, feed, material or lack of lubrication is not a manufacturing fault.

## Items we can't accept back

Unless faulty, we are unable to accept returns of:

- used, opened or unsealed consumables, including lubricants, oils and fluids
- items made or cut to your specification, special orders and non-stock items ordered in for you
- items that have been used, fitted, marked or modified, including safety workwear and PPE that has been worn
- items returned without original packaging, accessories or manuals
- batteries and chargers that have been used, for safety reasons
- clearance or ex-display items marked as non-returnable at the time of sale
- software, licences and gift cards once activated or redeemed

If an item is returned in a condition that reduces its value – for example, used, scratched or missing parts – we may make a deduction from your refund to reflect this, as permitted under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

## How to make a return

All returns need a returns number before they are sent back, so please don't post anything to us until we have confirmed it.

1. Call, text or WhatsApp us on 07876 653396, or email toolpointsolutions@gmail.com, with your order number, the item(s) you want to return and the reason. For faults or damage, include photos.
2. We will reply within 2 working days with a returns number and instructions. For faulty or incorrect items we will collect the item on our next van visit, or send a prepaid label if you're outside our van area. For change-of-mind returns you arrange and pay for the return.
3. Pack the item securely in its original packaging, include a note with your order number and returns number, and either hand it to us on our next van visit to your workshop or send it to the address we give you.
4. We inspect the item within 5 working days of receiving it and then process your refund, exchange or warranty claim. We will email you at each stage.

Warranty claims that need to go to the manufacturer may take longer, depending on the brand's service network. We will keep you updated.

## Refunds

Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the goods back, or of you showing proof of postage if sooner.

- Cancellations within 14 days are refunded in full, including our standard delivery charge. If you chose a premium delivery option, we refund the standard rate only.
- Change-of-mind returns after 14 days are refunded for the price of the goods. Outbound delivery and return postage are not refunded.
- Faulty or incorrect items are refunded in full, including all delivery costs.
- Trade accounts are refunded by credit note or to the original payment method, net of any restocking fee.

If you paid with Klarna or Clearpay, your refund goes back to them and they will update your account. Purchases paid by card on the van are refunded to the same card; cash purchases are refunded by bank transfer.

Exchanges are sent out once the returned item has been received and inspected. Please allow a few extra days for your bank or card provider to show the refund.
